MorningStar at Arcadia’s Executive
Director, Melissa Dillon received her education at California
State University-Long Beach with an emphasis on the study of dementia,
professional gerontology and global aging. Her life’s work has been to care for older
adults and she absolutely loves her career choice. A moving story on our website illustrates how
early in Ms. Dillon’s career she experienced a breakthrough with a patient in
dementia care, and the wonderful feeling it gave her. Our community is lucky to have her commitment
as well as leadership.
Another important member of our team
is Teresa Jones, MorningStar’s Wellness Director. As a compassionate professional, Ms. Jones
understands that dementia can be scary for families, especially when they are
struggling to understand the disease. “All they do know is that it’s turned
their parent or spouse into someone else.”
Her responsibilities include comforting and advising family members of
our residents and she always has her door open to them.
As the Director of Community
Relations, Mindy Melendez knows the true meaning of service and really enjoys
getting to learn more about the lives of our residents. She expresses sincere admiration for the
fascinating backgrounds of seniors. Ms.
Melendez shares many of their stories with her young son so he too may learn
the value of serving.
