Some of our residents move into our assisted living program before one day requiring more intensive support in the form of memory care services. Four factors define the major differences between the MorningStar assisted living and memory care programs.

First, memory care residents live in environments that place more emphasis on environmental security features such as daily check-ins and room emergency alert systems. The typical memory care room includes keypad-enabled entrances and a doorbell system that alerts caregivers when residents leave and re-enter their rooms.  Second, caregivers working in our memory care program receive much more extensive training, as well as require more education than is required for assisted living caregivers. 

Third, the activities planned for assisted living residents require minor support.
